  1. SPACE SHUTTLE PICTURE CD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  2.  
  3. Step 1. To view images and search captions, install image
  4. browser software (see below.)
  5.  
  6. Windows 95/98 Image Browser installation:
  7.  
  8. * Insert CD in drive.
  9. * Select "Run" from the "Start" menu.  Type in
  10. "D:\WIN_KUDO\SETUP32\SETUP.EXE".  Omit quotes and replace the
  11. letter "D" with the appropriate letter for your CD drive (D
  12. is the most common).  Click "OK".  Follow on-screen
  13. instructions.

  15. Run Image Browser
  16.  
  17. * After your computer reboots, click on the "Start" menu,
  18. select "Programs" then go to "Space Shuttle Images".  
  19. Finally select the "SHUTTLE.KDB" icon.
  20. * The CD MUST BE IN THE DRIVE to launch the browser and view
  21. the images.  When in the browser, right-click on the
  22. thumbnail to view a full-screen image.

  24. Windows 95/98 Screen Saver installation:
  25.  
  26. * Insert CD in drive.
  27. * Select "Run" from the "Start" menu.
  28. * Type in "D:\SCRNSVR\SHUTTLE.EXE".  Omit quotes and
  29. replace the letter "D" with the appropriate letter for your
  30. CD drive (D is the most common).  Click "OK" and follow
  31. on-screen instructions.

  33. WALLPAPER (Win 95/98 only)
  34.  
  35. Launch the "SHUTTLE.KDB" Catalog. Right click on the image that you 
  36. would like to use as your wallpaper. In the "Image Viewer" application,
  37. choose the "Save As bitmap (BMP)..." command from the "File" menu. 
  38. Save the file in the "C:\WINDOWS" directory. Open the "Control Panel"
  39. window and double click on the "Display" icon. Click on the 
  40. "Background" tab. Select the image you would like, and click 
  41. the "Apply" button.

  43. USING IMAGE BROWSER FEATURES

  45. View Image Full Screen
  46.  
  47. * Right click on any thumbnail to view image.
  48.  
  49. Find/Search Captions in the Catalog
  50.  
  51. * Captions for each image are stored in the "notes" 
  52. field. Captions can be viewed by selecting the large view 
  53. icon on the menu bar. Use these captions to search for 
  54. individual images or groups of images.
  55.  
  56. To search captions, click on the "Find" button in the menu 
  57. bar. In the "Find" dialog box, change the pull-down menu 
  58. from "Name" to "Notes", type in the word(s) you are searching 
  59. for (i.e. Columbia or Hubble) and click on the "Find" 
  60. button. Right-click on thumbnails to view image full-screen.

  62. Help/Internet Connection

  64. *Double click on the "WEBSITES" icon in the main window of the CD 
  65. to link to Space Shuttle resources on the internet.
  66.  
  67. *The "Imspace" web site (imspace.com) may also be reached by 
  68. selecting the "Connect to Imspace" option in the "Help" menu in Kudo 
  69. Image Browser. It is full of great user
  70. tips, free upgrades and trouble-shooting tips.

  72. Slide Show
  73.  
  74. Open the "SHUTTLE.KDB" Catalog. Right-click on any image to open
  75. the Kudo Image Viewer application. Select the 
  76. "Slide Show Preferences" option from the "View" menu and select 
  77. desired options. Open the "BMP" directory (D:\BMP) on the CD-ROM
  78. in "Windows Explorer". Select as many images as you want in your
  79. slide show and drag them into the "Kudo Image Viewer" window. 
  80. Hit the "esc" key to quit.

  88. Image Specifications
  89.  
  90. * Images are available in TIFF as well as Bitmap format
  91. (BMP) for your convenience.  They may be used in any program
  92. that can read TIFF or BMP graphic formats.
  93. * TIFF images can be accessed by opening the  "CONTENT" directory,
  94. then the  "SHUTTLE" directory, and finally the "01" directory/folder.
  95. * BMP Images are located in adirectory/folder called
  96. "BMP".  It is located in the main (root) directory of the CD.
